Mobile Services

When the team sat down to look at the mobile market landscape in the MENA region, one thing was clear. Only 13% of mobile phone users in the region carry high-end smartphones running popular platforms (iPhone, BlackBerry and Android). The remaining 87% carry lower-end smartphones and feature phones. Today, many Arab developers build cool mobile apps, but they tend to focus on high-end platforms. That’s mainly because it’s much less challenging than developing for lower-end platforms.

Now, Imagine building a fully-functional, feature-rich location-based social app for any phone out there. Smartphone or otherwise, Wireless Stars will help you do this.

Our goal is to give the Arab mobile app market the push it really needs to serve the demands of the larger portion of the crowd. We do that first by:

• Launching a location-based social game that supports high-end and low-end smartphones as well as feature phones. This will set the benchmark for all developers targeting local and regional markets.
• Since we can’t revolutionize an entire market alone, we will be releasing SDKs for different mobile platforms (including the low-end platforms). These SDKs will enable other developers to get past the limitations that we’ve already overcome in our technology and will help them pick up where we left off.
